Recruitment of Sports Persons Against Sports Quota (Open Advertisement) 2026-27

- South Eastern Railway invites online applications for recruitment of sports persons under Sports Quota for the year 2026-27.
- The recruitment is open to Indian nationals only.
- Vacancies are available across Group C (Level 4/5, Level 2/3) and Group D (Level 1) posts in various sports disciplines.
- The recruitment process includes sports trials, certificate verification, and selection based on merit.
- Selected candidates will be posted anywhere on South Eastern Railway after successful completion of training.

- Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as of January 1, 2027. No age relaxation is permissible.
- Sports Norms for Level-4/5 (GP: Rs. 2400/2800):
- Athletics (Men): Gold medalist in Open National Championship (Senior), Inter State Athletics Championships (Senior), or Asian Championships (Senior).
- Chess (Men): Grand Master Title in Chess.
- Table Tennis (Women): Current Annual All India Ranking up to 8th position in Seniors Singles.
- Hockey (Women/Men): Participation in International Tournaments of four or more nations or specific medal positions in National Championships.
- Archery (Men/Women): Medal-winning performance (at least 3rd position) in All India Inter University Championships or International events.
- Rifle Shooting (Women): Medal-winning performance in National Shooting Championship Competition (individual performance).
- Other disciplines: Representation in International/National Championships or specific rankings as per norms.
- Sports Norms for Level-2/3 (GP: Rs. 1900/2000):
- Representation in World Cup, World Championships, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, or at least 3rd position in National Championships.
- Participation in International Tournaments (Senior/Junior) of four or more nations.
- Sports Norms for Level-1 (GP: Rs. 1800)*:
- Representation in Commonwealth Championship, Asian Championship, or South Asian Federations Games.
- At least 3rd position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category).
- Representation of a State equivalent unit in Senior National Championships (except Marathon and Cross Country).
- Educational Qualifications:
- Level-4/Level-5: University Degree or its equivalent.
- Level-2/Level-3: Passed 12th (10+2) or equivalent, or Matriculation plus ITI/Apprenticeship/NAC.
- Level-1: 10th pass or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC).
- No reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS communities in terms of vacancies, but candidates must upload community details as per government norms.

- Selection will be based on performance in sports trials followed by certificate verification by a recruitment committee.
- The maximum marks for sports trials and certificate verification are distributed as follows:
- Recognized sports achievement: 50 marks
- Games skill, physical fitness, and coach’s observation during trial: 40 marks (minimum qualifying marks: 25)
- Educational qualification: 10 marks
- Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- Level-4/5 (GP: Rs. 2400/2800): 70 marks
- Level-2/3 (GP: Rs. 1900/2000): 65 marks
- Level-1 (GP: Rs. 1800): 60 marks
- In case of a tie in marks, preference will be given to the younger candidate.

- Color passport-size photograph (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm, not older than 3 months, JPG/JPEG format, 100 DPI, size up to 70 KB).
- Scanned signature and Left Thumb Impression (LTI) in JPG/JPEG format (100 DPI, size between 10-40 KB).
- Self-attested copy of a valid photo identity card (Aadhar card, PAN card, Driving License, Voter ID Card).
- Self-attested certificate in proof of educational qualification.
- Self-attested certificate in proof of date of birth (Matriculation/10th certificate).
- Self-attested certificates in proof of all recognized sports achievements (from recognized sports associations).
- Self-attested caste certificate (if applicable) from the Competent Authority (SC/ST/OBC/EBC/EWS).
- Income certificate for EBC candidates.
- Self-declaration for OBC Non-Creamy Layer and Minority Community (if applicable).
- Discharge certificate and Pension-related documents for Ex-Servicemen.
- Attested translation of certificates in languages other than English/Hindi.

- General/OBC candidates: Rs. 500/-
- SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Women, Minorities, and Economically Backward Classes: Rs. 250/-
