Scouts & Guides Quota Recruitment 2026-27 for Group C & D Posts

- Recruitment for 11 posts under Scouts & Guides Quota for North Eastern Railway (NER) and Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), Varanasi.
- Open for Group C (Level-2, Grade Pay 1900) and erstwhile Group D (Level-1, Grade Pay 1800) posts.
- Posts are distributed across N. E. Railway, BLW/Varanasi, Izzatnagar Division, Lucknow Division, and Varanasi Division of NER.
- Candidates must be active members of Scouts/Guides organizations with specific event participation and leadership credentials.
- Selection involves a Computer-Based Test (CBT) worth 60 marks and 40 marks for certificate-based evaluation.

- Educational Qualification:
- Level-2 (Group C): 12th pass with 50% aggregate (relaxed for SC/ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, or higher qualifications). OR Matriculation + ITI in relevant trade (NCVT/SCVT) OR Matriculation + Act Apprenticeship.
- Level-1 (Group D): Matriculation (10th pass) OR ITI OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
- Scouting-Guiding Qualifications:
- Must be a President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger or Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holder in any section.
- Must have been an active member for the last 5 years with a Certificate of Activeness in the prescribed format.
- Must have attended two National/All Indian Railways events AND two State-level events.
- Age Limit (as of 01.01.2027):
- Level-2 (Group C): 18 to 30 years.
- Level-1 (Group D): 18 to 33 years.
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years, OBC (NCL): 3 years, Ex-Servicemen: up to service duration + 3 years, PwBD: 10-15 years, Widows/Divorced Women: 35-40 years (varies by category), Serving Railway Staff: 3-5 years (varies by category).
- Gender Eligibility: Both (Scouts & Guides Quota).

- Written Examination (CBT): 60 marks (40 objective questions + 1 essay question on Scouting/Guiding and General Knowledge).
- Marks on Certificates: 40 marks (based on participation in National/State events, specialized courses, and District Rallies).
- Document Verification: Candidates equal to 5 times the number of vacancies will be called.
- Medical Examination: Mandatory for final appointment.
