Non-Management Posts in BPCL Mumbai Refinery & Kochi Refinery

- Recruitment for entry-level non-management technical posts in BPCL's Mumbai and Kochi refineries.
- Positions include Process Technician (Chemical), Process Operator (Chemical), Technician (Mechanical), and Technician (Electrical).
- Selected candidates will be placed in NG-2 grade with a starting basic pay of ₹26,500/- in the pay scale of ₹26,500/- – ₹34,000/-.
- Additional allowances include Industrial Dearness Allowance (DA) and other benefits as per BPCL rules.
- Candidates may be posted initially at Mumbai or Kochi refineries, with potential transfers to other BPCL locations based on business requirements.

- Indian nationals only are eligible to apply.
- Educational qualification: Full-time regular Diploma in specified engineering disciplines approved by AICTE.
- Minimum 60% aggregate marks for General, EWS, and OBC (NCL) candidates; 50% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
- Post-qualification experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience or apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 in a relevant industry.
- Diplomas obtained through part-time, correspondence, or distance learning modes are not eligible.
- Higher qualifications like B.E., B.Tech., or AMIE are not eligible.
- Candidates with lateral entry diplomas (after Class XII or ITI) are eligible if the required percentage is calculated based on aggregate marks of 4 semesters.
- Ex-servicemen must possess an AICTE/MHRD-recognized equivalent qualification with prescribed minimum marks.
- Sandwich Diploma courses (including continuous industrial training) are acceptable.

- Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT) with 100 objective-type questions (60 marks for Domain Knowledge, 40 marks for General Aptitude).
- Stage 2: Skill/Proficiency Test (SPT) at respective refinery locations for shortlisted candidates from CBT.
- Stage 3: Pre-Employment Medical Examination to ensure medical fitness as per BPCL standards.
- Final selection is subject to document verification and meeting all eligibility criteria.

• Technician (Mechanical) - Kochi Refinery: 13 vacancies (SC: 2, ST: 0, OBC (NCL): 3, EWS: 1, UR: 7).
• Technician (Electrical) - Kochi Refinery: 17 vacancies (SC: 2, ST: 0, OBC (NCL): 5, EWS: 2, UR: 8).
• Vacancies are tentative and may increase or decrease at the discretion of BPCL.

• General (including EWS) candidates: Minimum 18 years, Maximum 25 years as of 01.07.2026.
• OBC (NCL) candidates: Maximum age limit relaxed by 3 years.
• SC/ST candidates: Maximum age limit relaxed by 5 years.
• PwBD candidates (disability ≥40%): Maximum age limit relaxed by 10 years (up to 15 years for SC/ST PwBD, up to 13 years for OBC (NCL) PwBD).
• Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation equivalent to the period of military service rendered (capped at 3 years beyond the maximum age limit).
• Total cumulative age relaxation (for multiple applicable categories) capped at 15 years.

• CBT consists of two sections: Domain Knowledge (60 marks) and General Aptitude (40 marks).
• General Aptitude includes English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness, and Current Affairs.
• All questions are objective multiple-choice type with no negative marking.
• CBT may be conducted in one/two/three sessions in a single day for a post.

• Domain Knowledge: Syllabus based on the prescribed Diploma discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering).
• General Aptitude: English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension), Quantitative Aptitude (Number System, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration), Logical Reasoning (Analytical Ability, Puzzles), General Awareness (Current Affairs, Static GK), and Current Affairs (National and International Events).
