- Must have passed High School and Intermediate (Biology stream) from UP Board or an equivalent recognized examination.
- Must possess a 2-year 3-month diploma in Veterinary Pharmacy from a university/institution established by law in India.
- Registration with a competent council/institution is currently not required in Uttar Pradesh.
- Working knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari script is mandatory.
- Preference will be given to candidates with 2 years of service in Territorial Army or NCC 'B' Certificate (all else being equal).
- Must possess a 2-year 3-month diploma in Veterinary Pharmacy from a university/institution established by law in India.

- Duration of the exam is 2 hours with a negative marking of ¼ (25%) for each wrong answer.
- Scores will be normalized if the exam is conducted across multiple shifts/days.
