Various Apprenticeship Vacancies under Apprentices Act 1961

- Engagement as Apprentices under the Apprentices Act 1961 for imparting training in designated trades across Southern Railway divisions/units.
- Training is purely for skill development and does not guarantee employment; contract terminates upon completion of training.
- 20% of vacancies in Level 1 posts may be filled by course-completed act apprentices with NAC, subject to RRC direct recruitment rules.
- Training locations include Perambur, Ponmalai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Palakkad, Salem, Trivandrum, and other Southern Railway units.
- Stipend ranges from ₹8,200 to ₹9,600 per month for freshers and ₹9,600 for Ex-ITI candidates, with annual increments of 10% and 15% in subsequent years.

- Candidates must be residents of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, or specific districts of Andhra Pradesh (Nellore, Chittoor) and Karnataka (Dakshina Kannada).
- Fresher Category: Minimum 10th class pass (50% aggregate) for trades like Fitter, Painter, Welder; 12th class pass (50% aggregate) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
- Ex-ITI Category: 10th class pass (50% aggregate) with relevant ITI certification from government-recognized institutes.
- Age limit: 15–22 years for Freshers, 15–24 years for MLT (as of notification date). Relaxation: 3 years for OBC-NCL, 5 years for SC/ST, 10 years for PwBD.
- Minimum 50% marks in 10th standard not applicable for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
- Candidates must possess valid certificates for caste (SC/ST/OBC), disability (PwBD), or EWS status as applicable.

- Selection based on merit list prepared from converted marks:
- Fresher Category: Marks in 10th class converted to 200 marks (minimum 50% aggregate required).
- Ex-ITI Category: Marks in 10th class (100 marks) + ITI marks (100 marks) totaled to 200 marks.
- MLT Category: Marks in 12th class (with Physics, Chemistry, Biology) converted to 200 marks.
- In case of tied marks, older candidates or those who passed earlier are preferred.
- Shortlisted candidates must undergo document verification and medical examination.

All (UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwBD)

- Original and self-attested copies of 10th/12th/ITI certificates and mark sheets.
- Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC) issued by competent authority for reservation benefits.
- Disability certificate (for PwBD) issued by government medical board (minimum 40% benchmark disability).
- EWS certificate (if applicable) issued by competent authority.
- Transfer certificate for completion of qualifying examination.
- Government-authorized medical certificate in prescribed format for physical fitness.
- Passport-sized photographs and identity proof (Aadhaar/PAN/Driving License).
- Proof of residence (if required for eligibility verification).

- ₹100 for General/OBC candidates (non-refundable).
- No fee for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates.
