RCF Kapurthala Act Apprentice Recruitment 2026

- Recruitment drive by Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala, under the Ministry of Railways for 734 Act Apprentice positions.
- Training offered in nine technical trades including Fitter, Welder, Machinist, Painter, Carpenter, Electrician, AC & Refrigeration Mechanic, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), and Electronic Mechanic.
- Selection based on merit list without written examination or interview.
- Applications open from 07 August 2026 to 05 September 2026.
- Job location: Technical Training Centre, RCF Kapurthala, Punjab.

- Must have passed 10th class or equivalent with minimum 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
- Must possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the relevant trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).
- Age limit: 15 to 24 years as on 05 September 2026.
- Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 10 years for PWD, and up to 10 years for Ex-servicemen (subject to conditions).
- Candidates must produce relevant caste, non-creamy layer, disability, or discharge certificates at the time of document verification.

- Selection is based on a merit list prepared using the average of matriculation (10th class) marks and ITI/NTC trade certificate marks.
- Matriculation percentage is calculated using marks from all subjects.
- In case of a tie in marks, older candidates are preferred; if dates of birth are the same, candidates who passed matriculation earlier are preferred.
- Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification and medical fitness check.
- Final selection is subject to medical fitness as per Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.

- 10th class mark sheet and certificate.
- National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the relevant trade.
- Caste certificate (if applicable) issued by competent authority.
- Non-creamy layer certificate (if applicable) issued by competent authority.
- Disability certificate (if applicable) issued by competent authority.
- Discharge certificate for Ex-servicemen (if applicable).
- Passport-size photograph (recent, color, 3.5cm x 3.5cm).
- Scanned signature (3.5cm x 3.5cm).
- Medical fitness certificate (to be produced at document verification stage).

- Application fee: Rs. 100/- (non-refundable) for UR/OBC (Male) candidates.
- No application fee for SC/ST/PWD/Women candidates.
- Fee must be paid online within 2 working days of submitting the application form.
- Fee is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against other examinations.
