- Recruitment for 2 Scientist-B (Chemical) posts under the Department of Consumer Affairs on a deputation basis (ordinarily not exceeding three years).
- Positions are offered at Level-10 in the pay matrix (₹56,100–₹1,77,500/month).
- Candidates will be posted at National Test House (Northern Region), Ghaziabad and National Test House (Western Region), Mumbai.
- Responsibilities include chemical analysis of materials (e.g., building materials, metals, food, water, paints) using instrumental testing methods, along with research and development duties.

- Educational Qualifications (Essential):
• Master’s Degree in Chemistry/Microbiology from a recognized university/institute AND 1 year of practical experience in chemical analysis of materials (e.g., building materials, metals, ores, minerals, oil, fuels, food, water, paints) in a recognized laboratory using instrumental methods of testing;
• OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Technology/Chemical Engineering from a recognized university/institute AND 2 years of practical experience in chemical analysis of materials (same scope as above).
- Desirable Qualification: Experience in Research and Development in the areas covered in the educational qualification.
- Experience: Must have held an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department, or have 2 years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment in posts at Level 8 (₹47,600–₹1,51,100) in the Pay Matrix or equivalent.
- Age Limit: Maximum age of 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications (01-11-2026).
- Eligible Applicants: Officers under Central Government, State Government, Union Territories administrations, Public Sector Undertakings, Universities, Recognized Research Institutions, semi-government, autonomous bodies, or statutory organizations who meet the above criteria.
