Faculty Recruitment 2026 for Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor Positions

- National Institute of Technology Goa (NIT Goa) is an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
- Recruitment is open for Indian Nationals for faculty positions in various departments including Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English.
- Positions include Assistant Professor (Grade-II, Level-10), Assistant Professor (Grade-I, Level-12), Associate Professor (Level-13A2), and Professor (Level-14A).
- Total vacancies: 28 (16 for Assistant Professor, 8 for Associate Professor, and 4 for Professor).
- Applications are invited from candidates working in India or abroad.

- Ph.D. in the relevant/equivalent discipline is mandatory for all positions.
- First Class in Bachelor’s degree onward is required. If 'first class' is not mentioned, a minimum of 6.5 CGPA (10-point scale) or 60% marks is required.
- For Assistant Professor Grade-II (Level-10): No prior teaching experience required.
- For Assistant Professor Grade-I (Level-12): Minimum 3 years of teaching/research experience after Ph.D. or 6 years total experience in an institution of repute, R&D lab, or relevant industry.
- For Associate Professor (Level-13A2): Minimum 6 years of experience after Ph.D. (including 3 years at Assistant Professor Grade-I Level-12) or 9 years total experience (including 3 years at Assistant Professor Grade-I Level-12).
- For Professor (Level-14A): Minimum 10 years of experience after Ph.D. (including 7 years at Associate Professor Level-13A2) or 13 years total experience (including 3 years at Associate Professor Level-13A2).
- Degrees must be from UGC/AICTE/AIU/GoI recognized institutions.
- Candidates with Ph.D. directly after UG (4-year) in Engineering from a reputed institution are eligible if they have first class at Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience from institutes of repute (as per MHRD guidelines) is mandatory for eligibility and credit point evaluation.

- Selection is based on scrutiny of applications for eligibility, shortlisting based on credit points, experience, and research/academic performance.
- Shortlisted candidates must deliver a lecture in the respective department on a UG core subject using black/white board.
- Followed by a personal interview where candidates must present past research work and future research plans.
- Technical presentation and interview may be conducted via video conferencing for candidates residing abroad.
- Final selection is subject to medical fitness as per institute requirements.
- The institute reserves the right to reject or accept any application at any stage.

- Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) from competent authorities.

- Credit point certificates (if applicable) as per the institute’s credit point system.
- Undertaking for candidates with Ph.D. directly after UG (if applicable).

- General/OBC candidates: ₹1,500 per post per department.
- Women candidates: ₹1,500 per post per department.
- SC/ST/PwD/EWS candidates: Exempted from application fees.
- Indian Nationals applying from abroad: USD $50 per post per department.
