Madhya Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (MPTET) 2026 for Primary & Upper Primary Teachers

Recruitment drive for Primary (Class 1-5) and Upper Primary (Class 6-8) teachers in Madhya Pradesh government schools under the Right to Education (RTE) Act framework.
Applicants must qualify the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) to be eligible for appointment, except for teachers with less than 5 years of service who may continue without TET qualification until superannuation.
In-service teachers recruited before the RTE Act with more than 5 years to retirement must qualify TET within 3 years (by 31st August 2028) to continue in service.
Promotion eligibility for in-service teachers requires TET qualification regardless of remaining service years.
Online application portal open from 21st August 2026 to 4th September 2026 with provision for corrections until 9th September 2026.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent for Upper Primary teaching positions.
For Primary teaching positions, candidates must hold a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) or equivalent qualification.
Minimum educational qualification for both posts is 12th pass with relevant teacher training certification.
Age limit: Applicants must be between 21-40 years as of 1st January 2026 (relaxation applicable for reserved categories as per government norms).
Candidates must be Indian citizens and permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh.
Teachers already in service under MPESB must apply through the designated online portal with their application number.

Selection will be based on the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) scores conducted by MPESB.
Written examination will assess teaching aptitude, subject knowledge, and pedagogical skills.
Final merit list will be prepared based on TET scores and educational qualifications.
Document verification will be conducted for shortlisted candidates before final appointment.
Selection process is governed by the Madhya Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test Rules 2026.

General/OBC/EWS candidates: ₹1,000/- (for online application processing fee).
SC/ST/PwD candidates: ₹600/- (for online application processing fee).
Additional ₹200/- for candidates opting for examination center outside Madhya Pradesh.
Fee payment must be made online through the designated payment gateway during application submission.
