KPSC Gazetted Probationers Recruitment 2026 for Group A & B Posts

- Recruitment drive by Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) for 319 Gazetted Probationers posts under Group A and Group B for the year 2026-27.

- Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree from a recognized Indian university or equivalent qualification.
- Candidates appearing for final qualifying examinations are eligible but must submit proof of passing during the Main Examination application.
- Minimum age: 21 years as on the last date of application submission.
- Maximum age: 40 years for General Merit candidates, 43 years for Category 2A/2B/3A/3B, and 45 years for SC/ST/Category-1 candidates.
- Additional one-time 5-year age relaxation for all categories as per Government Order dated 29-01-2026.
- Ex-servicemen, Persons with Disabilities, and widowed/divorced candidates (not remarried) receive additional age relaxations.

- Selection involves a two-stage process: Preliminary Examination followed by Main Examination and Personality Test.
- Preliminary Examination: Objective-type screening test with two papers (General Studies and State-specific topics), totaling 400 marks with negative marking.
- Main Examination: Descriptive-type test with 5 compulsory papers (1250 marks) and 2 qualifying language papers (Kannada and English).
- Personality Test: Interview carrying 25 marks for final selection.
- Candidates are shortlisted for Main Examination in a 1:15 ratio against notified vacancies.
- Candidates are called for Personality Test in a 1:3 ratio based on Main Examination merit.

Open to all categories with applicable reservations (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, etc.).

- Bachelor's/Master's Degree certificate or provisional pass certificate.
- SSLC/10th standard marks card for date of birth verification.
- Category certificate (SC/ST/Category-1/2A/2B/3A/3B) issued by competent authority.
- Non-creamy layer certificate (if applicable for 2A/2B/3A/3B categories).
- Rural study certificate (if claiming rural candidate benefit).
- Kannada Medium study certificate (if claiming Kannada Medium candidate benefit).
- Ex-Military Person certificate/discharge certificate (if applicable).
- Disability certificate in prescribed format (if applicable).
- Hyderabad-Karnataka (Article 371(J)) local candidate proof (if applicable).
- Recent passport-sized photograph and scanned signature (photo: <200 KB, signature: <70 KB, JPEG/JPG format).

- General Merit and other categories: Rs. 600/-
- Category 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B: Rs. 300/-
- Ex-Military Personnel: Rs. 50/-
- SC, ST, Category-1, and Persons with Disabilities: Exempted (no fee).
- Fee is non-refundable and must be paid online via Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI.
