Social Welfare Residential School Teacher (Vasati Shala Shikshakaru) Recruitment 2026

- Recruitment drive by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) on behalf of the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Karnataka.
- Total of 140 vacancies for Residential School Teacher (Vasati Shala Shikshakaru) posts.
- 40 posts under Kalyana Karnataka cadre (Notification No. ED/KEA/39/RC/2026(KK)).
- 100 posts under Residual Post Cadre (Notification No. ED/KEA/38/RC/2026(RPC)).
- Selected candidates will be placed on the 2024 revised Karnataka state pay scale of ₹41,300–81,800.
- Appointees will undergo a 2-year probation period and are covered under the National Pension Scheme (NPS).

- PUC (Pre-University Course) with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/Category-1/PwD candidates).
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR 4-year Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education OR 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the Government of Karnataka or Government of India.
- Original certificates must be produced at the time of document verification; provisional results are not accepted.
- Candidates must be Indian citizens and mentally/physically fit to discharge duties.

- Selection is through a competitive written examination (CBT or OMR-based).
- Exam consists of two papers: Paper-1 (General Knowledge, Indian Constitution, History, Geography, Economics, Environment) and Paper-2 (General Kannada, General English, Computer Knowledge).
- Each paper carries 100 questions (100 marks) with a duration of 2 hours.
- Minimum 35% aggregate marks required in the competitive exam to qualify.
- Negative marking applies: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
- Qualifying Kannada Language Test (150 marks) for candidates who did not study Kannada up to SSLC level; minimum 50 marks required to qualify.

- Kannada-medium study certificate (for Kannada-medium reservation).
- Ex-servicemen discharge/pension certificate or dependent's certificate (where applicable).
- Disability certificate (UDID/medical board certificate) for Special Chetana (PwD) candidates.
- Third Gender certificate issued by the District Magistrate (where applicable).
- Valid original photo ID (PAN Card/Driving Licence/Aadhaar Card/Passport/Voter ID/Government Employee ID) for exam center.

- General Merit & Category 2A/2B/3A/3B: ₹750 (₹500 application fee + ₹250 processing fee).
- SC / ST / Category-1 / Ex-Servicemen / Third Gender candidates: ₹500 (₹250 application fee + ₹250 processing fee).
- Special Chetana (PwD) candidates: ₹250 (processing fee only).
