- Must be a domicile holder of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir with a valid domicile certificate issued by the competent authority.
- Age limit as on 1 January 2026: 40 years for Open Merit, 43 years for SC/ST-1/ST-2/RBA/ALC-IB/EWS/OBC, and 42 years for Physically Challenged Persons.
- Ex-Servicemen can deduct their service period from actual age (up to 3 years beyond the prescribed limit).
- Qualification varies by post: Matriculation to Graduate degree with Science or relevant diplomas.
- Candidates must produce original certificates for qualification and category during document verification.
