Apprentice Trainee Vacancies at IRCTC (Graduate & COPA)

- IRCTC, East Zone, Kolkata invites applications for Apprentice Trainee positions under the Apprenticeship Act-1961 (amended in 2014) for FY 2026-27.
- Apprentices will be trained at Zonal Offices (Kolkata), Regional Offices (Guwahati, Patna), and Area Offices (Howrah, Sealdah, Asansol, New Jalpaiguri, Ranchi, Tatanagar).
- This is a skill-building initiative for candidates interested in working with IRCTC.
- No written test or viva will be conducted; selection is purely merit-based.

- Graduate Apprentice (34 vacancies): Graduate in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized university.
- Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA) (10 vacancies): Matriculation pass with an ITI Certificate (NCVT/SCVT) and a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
- Age Limit (as of 09.10.2026): Must have completed 15 years and not completed 25 years. Relaxations apply as per Government of India guidelines: SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years, Ex-Serviceman: 10 years, Differently Abled: 10 years.
- Candidates must be comfortable working in IRCTC offices located in Kolkata, Guwahati, Patna, Howrah, Sealdah, Asansol, New Jalpaiguri, Ranchi, or Tatanagar.

- Selection will be based on merit list prepared on the basis of percentage of marks in qualifying examinations.
- No written test or viva will be conducted.
- Final selection is subject to verification of original testimonials. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
- Applicants with older age will be preferred in case of a tie in marks. If dates of birth are also the same, the applicant who passed matriculation earlier will be considered first.
- Stand-by list candidates will be offered positions only after absentees and rejected candidates from the merit list are confirmed.

• 10th Mark Sheet and Certificate,
• ITI Standard Mark Sheet (if applicable),
• National Trade Certificate (NCVT/SCVT) or Provisional National Trade Certificate (if applicable),
• Proof of date of birth (10th Standard or equivalent mark sheet/leaving certificate),
• 12th Standard Mark Sheet and Certificate (if applicable),
• Graduation Mark Sheet and Certificate (if applicable),
• Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC applicants),
• OBC Certificate (must be issued within the last one year),
• Disability Certificate (for PwBD applicants),
• Discharge/Serving Certificate (for Ex-Servicemen applicants),
• Recent color photograph (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm, JPG/JPEG, 100 DPI, file size 20 kb – 70 kb, no cap/sunglasses).
- Original documents + 2 sets of self-attested photocopies must be carried for verification.
