Recruitment of Security Guards for Ex-Servicemen/Ex-Agniveers

- Recruitment of Security Guards for appointment in Chennai/Tamil Nadu under Indian Overseas Bank, a Public Sector Bank.
- Selected candidates will perform security duties including monitoring premises, operating security gadgets (CCTV, metal detectors, fire alarms), and handling fire-fighting equipment.
- Work involves shift duties including night shifts and other routine subordinate cadre duties as required by the Bank.
- Candidates must be willing to work on a 24x7x365 shift basis.

- Nationality: Must be a Citizen of India or meet specific eligibility criteria for Tibetan refugees, subjects of Nepal/Bhutan, or Indian-origin migrants from specified countries.
- Age as on 01.08.2026: Minimum 18 years, Maximum 26 years (relaxation applicable for Ex-Servicemen/Ex-Agniveers).
- Age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen: General (26 + service period + 3 years, max 45 years), SC/ST (31 + service period + 3 years, max 45 years), OBC (29 + service period + 3 years, max 45 years), Agniveer (21 + service period + 3 years).
- Educational Qualification: Pass in 10th standard or equivalent. Candidates should be able to speak, read, and write in Tamil language.
- Medical Standards: Must meet minimum SHAPE-1 or AYE standards at the time of valid discharge from the Armed Forces.
- Exclusivity: Vacancies are reserved exclusively for Ex-Servicemen/Ex-Agniveers (excluding Disabled Ex-Servicemen).
- Character: Must have 'Exemplary' character at the time of valid discharge from Armed Forces.

- Selection will be based on three stages: (1) Online Objective Type Test (80 marks), (2) Local Language Test (Tamil, 20 marks), and (3) Physical Fitness Test (100 marks).
- Online Test includes: Knowledge of English Language (20 marks), Aptitude Test (20 marks), Arithmetic Test (20 marks), and Psychometric Test (20 marks).
- Physical Fitness Test includes: Push-Ups (30 marks), Sit-Ups (30 marks), 1 km Run (30 marks), and Drill Test (10 marks). Minimum qualifying score is 65 marks.
- Merit list will be drawn by adding marks from all three tests.
- Pre-Examination Training will be provided for SC/ST/Minority Communities/Ex-Servicemen at Chennai (expenses to be borne by candidates).

- Discharge Book.
- Certificate issued by competent authority for SC/ST/OBC/EWS category candidates.
- Income and Asset Certificate for EWS category candidates.
- Medical Fitness Certificate (not older than 15 days) from a medical practitioner (not below the rank of Civil Assistant Surgeon).
