Recruitment of Local Bank Officers (JMGS-I) 2026-27

- Recruitment for 250 vacancies of Local Bank Officers (JMGS-I) in Indian Overseas Bank, a leading Public Sector Bank under Government of India.
- Selected candidates will be posted in the applied state only for the first 12 years of service or until promotion to SMGS-IV Grade, whichever is earlier.
- Candidates must be proficient in the local language of the state they apply for.
- One advance increment in pay for each prior completed year of service as an Officer in Scheduled Commercial Banks (max 2 increments).
- Candidates working with subsidiaries of Scheduled Commercial Banks are eligible for only one increment.
- Probation period of 2 years from the date of joining.
- Candidates must execute a financial service indemnity bond of Rs. 2,00,000 for a minimum service period of 3 years.

- Nationality: Must be a Citizen of India, subject of Nepal/Bhutan, Tibetan refugee who came to India before 01.01.1962, or a person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries.
- Age Limit (as of 01.08.2026): Minimum 20 years, Maximum 30 years (born between 02.08.1996 and 01.08.2006).
- Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, 5 years for Ex-Servicemen, and 5 years for persons affected by 1984 riots.
- Educational Qualification: Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.
- Local Language Proficiency: Must be proficient in the local language of the state applied for. Candidates who did not study the local language in 10th or 12th standard must pass a Local Language Proficiency Test.
- Candidates must produce original documents and photocopies for verification at the time of Personal Interview.

- Selection is based on an Online Examination, Language Proficiency Test (LPT), and Personal Interview.
- Online Examination: 140 objective-type questions (200 marks) covering Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, Data Analysis & Interpretation, and English Knowledge.
- Penalty for wrong answers: 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect response.
- Minimum qualifying marks: 30% for reserved categories, 35% for unreserved categories in the online exam.
- Language Proficiency Test (LPT): Mandatory for candidates who did not study the local language in 10th or 12th standard. Failure to qualify will disqualify the candidate.
- Personal Interview: Carries 100 marks. Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for reserved categories, 50% for unreserved categories.
- Final selection is based on a merit list prepared state-wise and category-wise, with an 80:20 weightage for Online Exam and Personal Interview respectively.
- Candidates must achieve a minimum aggregate score of 30% (reserved) or 35% (unreserved) in the combined online exam and interview.

Open for all categories (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwBD) with reservations as per Government of India guidelines.

- Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate or SSLC/Std. X Certificate).
- Proof of Language Proficiency (Std X/Std XII Certificate with subjects passed).

- Mark sheets and relevant certificates for educational qualifications.
- Work Experience certificates (Appointment letters, Relieving letters, Pay slips).
- Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories) issued by a competent authority.
- Income and Asset Certificate (for EWS category) issued by a competent authority.
- Disability Certificate (for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) issued by a competent authority.

- SC/ST/PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities): Rs. 175 (inclusive of GST).
- General/EWS/OBC: Rs. 850 (inclusive of GST).
