📄 Details & Description
- Research project focuses on developing an integrated microwave-assisted hydrometallurgical process for enhanced recovery of critical rare earth elements (REEs) from industrial waste such as fly ash and coal washery rejects.
- Aims to optimize microwave-assisted leaching kinetics to maximize metal recovery and conduct techno-economic assessments comparing microwave-integrated and conventional extraction processes.
- Position is part of a sponsored project under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India.
- Tenure: Maximum of 2 years or until project completion, whichever is earlier (may convert to regular JRF of the institute as per IIT(ISM) rules).
🎓 Eligibility Criteria
- M.E./M.Tech/M.S/Integrated M.Tech or B.E/B.Tech in Metallurgical/Chemical/Mineral/Mining/Environmental/Mechanical or related discipline.
- OR M.Sc./M.Sc.Tech or equivalent degree in relevant fields.
- Candidates must have qualified GATE or CSIR-UGC NET examination.
- Desirable: Experience or knowledge in microwave processing, hydrometallurgy, or resource recovery from coal/mineral waste.
