- OR B.Tech./B.E. or equivalent in Metallurgical Engineering/Materials Science and Engineering/Metallurgical and Materials Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Manufacturing/Production Engineering/Engineering Physics with valid GATE score.
- OR M.Sc. in Materials Science/Physics/Nanoscience and Technology with valid GATE score/UGC/CSIR-JRF qualification/equivalent fellowship.

- Strong foundation in physical metallurgy, thermodynamics, and mechanical behavior.
