📄 Details & Description
- Two Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) positions available in the Regenerative Medicine & Stem Cell (RMS) Lab, Department of Biomedical Engineering, IIT Hyderabad.
- Projects include: (1) 3D-printed organ-on-chip for precision oncology in lung cancer (drug sensitivity with cancer organoids and drug toxicity using IPSC-derived liver and cardiac organoids), and (2) Development of 3D printable antimicrobial composite hydrogels with metal-binding peptides for anti-inflammatory effects and bone tissue engineering.
- Organ-on-chip technology involves fabricating micrometer-scale organs in microfluidic devices using primary human stem cells and cancer cells for drug testing and therapeutic applications.
- Projects are interdisciplinary, requiring strong experience in one area with willingness to learn complementary skills.
- Collaboration with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai.
- Selected candidates may have the opportunity to convert the JRF position to a PhD based on performance.
🎓 Eligibility Criteria
- M. Tech in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent Biosciences degrees with 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- M. Sc. in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or equivalent courses (e.g., M. Pharma) with fellowships or 1 year of research experience.
- Candidates with their own fellowships (DBT/DST-INSPIRE/ICMR/CSIR/UGC) are encouraged to apply, especially for the 5-month project.
- Knowledge of organoid culture (for 3-year project) or 3D spheroid culture/microbiology experience (for 5-month project) with cell culture is preferred.
