Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology

- The Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, invites applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in the Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology.
- The role is part of the NMCG-sponsored project: Characterization of Emerging Pollutants & Fingerprint Analysis under the Smart Laboratory on Clean Rivers (SLCR) initiative.
- The position is tentatively for one year, with potential extension based on project performance. The post is full-time and temporary, co-terminus with the project duration.
- The JRF will focus on scientific research, including quantitative and qualitative analysis of micro-pollutants and microbes in small rivers, with responsibilities such as experiment design, data analysis, and report preparation.
- The selected candidate will work closely with other JRFs and project assistants (PAs) in the Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology at IIT(BHU), Varanasi.

- Qualification: Master’s degree in M.Pharm, M.S.(Pharm.), or M.Tech (Pharm) in Pharma/Medicinal Chemistry, Natural Product Pharmacognosy, Analysis, or related fields.
- Entrance Exam: Must have qualified in GATE, GPAT, or CSIR-NET (equivalent examinations).
- Desirable Experience: Prior research experience in analytical techniques (HPLC, LCMS, Spectroscopic characterization), microbial work (DNA isolation, sequencing), and environmental science.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in statistical software, data analysis tools, and water quality assessment methods.
- Personal Qualities: Strong written/verbal communication, problem-solving, and detail-oriented approach.

- Selection will be conducted through an interview by a Selection Committee.
- The committee may restrict the number of candidates called for the interview based on qualifications and experience.
- Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email.
