Various Non-Teaching Positions (Group B & C) at IIT (BHU) Varanasi

- Recruitment drive for 52 non-teaching positions across Administrative, Technical, Library, Engineering, and Rajbhasha cadres at IIT (BHU) Varanasi, an Institute of National Importance.
- Positions include Junior Superintendent, Junior Technicians (5 groups), Junior Library Assistant, Assistant Engineer, Junior Engineer, and Junior Translation Officer.
- Pay levels range from Level 3 to Level 11 as per 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
- Applications must be submitted online via SAMARTH Portal (https://iitbhunt.samarth.edu.in) between 25.08.2026 and 24.09.2026 (till 05:00 PM).
- Printout of submitted application along with supporting documents must be sent via Speed Post to The Registrar, IIT (BHU), Varanasi – 221005 within 7 days of application deadline.

- Junior Superintendent (Post Code: 26118): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 55% marks + 3 years of relevant experience (Level 5) or 8 years (Level 3). Proficiency in MS Office applications required.
- Junior Technician (Group-I, Post Code: 26119): Bachelor’s degree in Science (Chemistry/Physics) with 55% marks. Proficiency in MS Office applications required.
- Junior Technician (Group-II, Post Code: 26120): Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Metallurgical/Ceramic/Materials Science (55% marks) OR 3-year Diploma in relevant field (55% marks) with 1 year experience.
- Junior Technician (Group-III, Post Code: 26121): Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics (55% marks) OR 3-year Diploma in relevant field (55% marks) with 1 year experience.
- Junior Technician (Group-IV, Post Code: 26122): Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mining/Architecture (55% marks) OR 3-year Diploma in Civil/Mining (55% marks) with 1 year experience.
- Junior Technician (Group-V, Post Code: 26123): Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT (55% marks) OR 3-year Diploma in Computer Science/IT (55% marks) with 1 year experience.
- Junior Library Assistant (Post Code: 26124): Bachelor’s degree in Library & Information Science (55% marks) OR Diploma in Library Science (55% marks) with Bachelor’s degree OR 2-year M.Lib. degree (55% marks).
- Assistant Engineer (Post Code: 26125): Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Civil/Electrical Engineering with 5 years (Bachelor’s) or 8 years (Diploma) post-qualification experience at Level 6 or above.
- Junior Engineer (Post Code: 26126): B.E./B.Tech. in Civil (55% marks) with 2 years experience OR 3-year Diploma in Civil (55% marks) with 3 years experience.
- Junior Translation Officer (Post Code: 26127): Bachelor’s degree in Hindi with 3 years of translation experience (English-Hindi and Hindi-English). Desirable: Diploma in translation, Hindi software knowledge, and technical document translation experience.

- Selection will be based on shortlisting of applications followed by written test/interview/practical test as applicable.
- Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email; no separate hard copy will be sent.
- Final selection will be subject to document verification and medical fitness.
- The Institute reserves the right to cancel or postpone the recruitment process without assigning reasons.

General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwBD

- Printout of the submitted online application form.
- Self-attested photocopies of all supporting documents (educational certificates, experience certificates, caste certificate, PwBD certificate, etc.).
- Certificate in support of experience in the prescribed format (Annexure-A).
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) and Vigilance clearance for candidates serving in Government/Semi-Government organizations.
- Caste certificate (for SC/ST/OBC candidates) as per GOI format (not older than 6 months for OBC).
- PwBD certificate (if applicable) issued by competent authority.

- Group B posts: ₹500 for General/OBC/EWS candidates; Nil for SC/ST/PwBD/Female candidates.
- Group C posts: ₹250 for General/OBC/EWS candidates; Nil for SC/ST/PwBD/Female candidates.
- Fee payment via online mode (Internet Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card/UPI).
