- Qualification: Must hold an M.Sc., B.Tech., or B.E. in Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, or equivalent degree.
- Experience: At least 10 years of post-qualification experience required.
- Alternative for PhD holders: PhD degree counts as 4 years of experience (regardless of duration taken).
- Not eligible: MPH, M.Tech, ME, or M.Pharma degrees do not count as experience.
- Retired Government Employees: Eligible if they were in regular Pay Level-10 or above and have at least 10 years of experience in the required specialization. Remuneration for retired employees is fixed as per Ministry of Finance OM No. 3-25/2020-EINA dated 09 Dec 2020.
