Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

- The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will serve as the apex executive of ISTC, leading its evolution as India's national hub for indigenous ship design, research, consultancy, training, and policy input.
- The CEO will be stationed at the ISTC campus in Kochi and report directly to the Board of Directors.
- Key responsibilities include strategic leadership, operational management, stakeholder engagement (academia, industry, government), and advancing India's shipbuilding self-reliance goals under the National Maritime Vision.
- The role encompasses strategic leadership, R&D, training, consultancy, policy advisory, operations, infrastructure management, global partnerships, governance, and outreach.

- Essential: Degree in Naval Architecture Engineering, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Essential: PhD in Engineering from a recognized university.
- Essential: Minimum 25 years of managerial experience in ship design, shipyard, or R&D organizations.
- Essential: Proven track record of managing large projects or leading operations in senior or leadership roles within commercial or defense R&D, design, shipbuilding, or maritime sectors.
- Desirable: Experience in training, consultancy, policy formulation, or advisory roles.
- Desirable: Strong industry network (shipyards, maritime companies) and connections with academia/government.
- Desirable: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic planning skills.

- Selection will be through a personal interview.
- ISTC reserves the right to shortlist candidates based on eligibility criteria verified through uploaded certificates.
- Only shortlisted candidates who successfully complete certificate verification will be called for the interview.
- A rank list will be prepared based on interview performance and eligibility criteria.

- Recent passport-size color photograph must be uploaded.
- For private sector or contract roles, CTC breakup, payslips, and appointment/offer letters must be submitted as proof of experience.
- Original certificates will be verified at the time of joining or as decided by ISTC.

- Application fee: ₹400 (non-refundable, plus bank charges) for General/OBC candidates.
- SC/ST candidates are exempted from the application fee.
- Fee must be paid online via debit card/credit card/internet banking between 01 September 2026 and 18 September 2026.
