Sanitary Inspector, Class-3 Recruitment 2026

- Recruitment for 22 posts of Sanitary Inspector, Class-3 under the Health and Family Welfare Department, Gujarat.
- Fixed pay of ₹26,000 per month for the first 5 years, followed by Level-4 pay scale (₹25,500 – ₹81,100) after satisfactory service.
- Written examination (CBRT/OMR-based) scheduled tentatively in December 2026.
- Applications accepted only via the OJAS portal (ojas.gujarat.gov.in) from 17 August 2026, 2:00 PM to 31 August 2026, 11:59 PM.
- Exam fee: ₹500 for General/OBC candidates and ₹400 for reserved categories.

- Educational qualification: Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent, along with a minimum one-year Health Sanitary Inspector's Diploma or ITI certificate from a Government-recognized institute.
- Basic computer application knowledge as prescribed under Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
- Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi, or both.
- Must be a citizen of India or possess nationality as per Rule-7 of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
- Candidates lacking a valid computer-knowledge certificate must submit proof of passing a basic computer knowledge test before appointment.

- Selection is based on a single-stage competitive written examination (CBRT/OMR-based) conducted in two parts: Part A (120 marks) and Part B (120 marks), totaling 240 marks.
- Part A includes Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30 marks), Mathematical/Numerical Ability (30 marks), and Indian Constitution, Current Affairs, Gujarati & English Comprehension (60 marks).
- Part B consists of subject-related questions (Sanitary Inspector domain) with 120 marks.
- Total duration: 3 hours (180 minutes) for both parts combined.
- Negative marking: ¼ mark deducted for each wrong answer.
- Minimum 40% marks required separately in both Part A and Part B to qualify.
- Document verification will be conducted for candidates shortlisted up to approximately twice the number of vacancies per category.
