Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities Recruitment 2026

- The Government of Mizoram, Social Welfare, Women & Child Development Department (SWD Mizoram) has announced a recruitment drive for the post of Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).

- Applications must be submitted in person at the Social Welfare, Women & Child Development Department, Room no. 023, Building II, Mizoram Secretariat, MINECO, Khatla, free of cost during office hours.

- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- Must achieve a minimum score in the qualifying test of Mizo language proficiency as prescribed by the Government of Mizoram.
- Must have special knowledge or practical experience in matters relating to the rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.
- Desirable: Master’s degree in Social Work, Law, Management, Human Rights, Rehabilitation, or Education of Persons with Disabilities.
- Must have at least 10 years of experience in one or more of the following types of organizations at specified levels:
Group ‘A’ level post in Central/State Government/Public Sector Undertaking/Semi-Government/Autonomous Bodies/Educational Institutions/Registered National/International level organizations dealing with disability-related matters.
Senior level functionary in a Registered National or International level Voluntary Organization working in the field of disability/social development for at least 10 years.
* Senior Executive position in a leading private sector organization involved in social work and handling social development activities for at least 10 years.
- Out of the total 10 years of experience, at least 3 years must have been in the field of empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in the immediate past.
- If currently employed under the Central Government, State Government, or any other organization, the candidate must seek retirement before appointment to this post.
