Empanelment of Advocates for ESIC Tamil Nadu Region

- ESIC Tamil Nadu invites offline applications for empanelment of 124 practicing advocates to represent ESIC before various courts and tribunals in Tamil Nadu.
- Empanelment is for a tenure of ordinarily 3 years, subject to termination by the Competent Authority.
- Existing panel advocates at ESIC's Regional Office, Chennai, and Sub Regional Offices (Salem, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tirunelveli) must apply afresh as the current panel ceases to exist.
- Empanelment does not guarantee allotment of cases or legal work from ESIC; selection is based on merit and ESIC's discretion.

- Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Law from a recognized University in India.
- Must be enrolled/registered with the Bar Council of India/State Bar Council and in active practice at the Bar.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience required for empanelment before the Hon'ble High Courts in Tamil Nadu and the Hon'ble CAT, Chennai Bench.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience required for empanelment before district-level courts and other forums.
- Must have regular practice and standing at the Bar, preferably with experience handling labour-law-related cases.
- Must be well-versed in the Code on Social Security, 2020 (subsuming the erstwhile ESI Act, 1948), labour law, and Civil and Criminal procedure.
- Must have a sound professional reputation, good communication skills, and adequate office infrastructure (chamber, staff, communication facilities) at the city/town where the court is located.
- Must have an office at the place where empanelment is sought.

- Submission of duly filled application (Annexure-B for fresh applicants, Annexure-C for existing panel counsels) with supporting documents.
- Shortlisting of applications by the Competent Authority based on ESIC's criteria.
- Shortlisted advocates may be called for an interaction/interview before finalization of empanelment.
- No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interaction.
- Final selection and empanelment communication will be issued separately by ESIC.
- The decision of ESIC regarding shortlisting and selection is final and binding.

- Copy of the Law Degree and other educational qualifications.
- Copy of the valid enrolment/registration certificate issued by the Bar Council.
- Copy of the identity card issued by the Bar Association.
- Copy of Government ID proof and PAN.
- Resume/CV, including professional experience, areas of practice, and important cases handled.
- Copies of Income Tax Returns (ITR) for the last two financial years.
- Two recent passport-size photographs.
- Copies of judgments, if any, in labour-law-related cases where the advocate has appeared.
- Undertaking and declaration regarding conflict of interest.

- No application fee is mentioned in the notification.
