Engagement of Act Apprentices for East Coast Railway (2026-2027)

- East Coast Railway invites online applications for engagement as Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the year 2026-2027.
- Total of 1,599 vacancies available across various trades and departments under East Coast Railway.
- Training will be conducted at designated Divisions and Workshops under East Coast Railway jurisdiction.
- No hostel accommodation provided during training; apprentices must arrange their own lodging.
- Upon completion of training, apprentices will be released without any obligation for employment in Railways.

- Applicants must be between 15 to 24 years of age as on 15/09/2026 (closing date).
- Age relaxation: SC/ST by 5 years, OBC by 3 years, PwBD by 10 years, and Ex-Servicemen by 10 years plus service rendered (minimum 6 months).
- Must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) with minimum 50% aggregate marks from a recognized Board.
- Must possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade affiliated to NCVT/Academic certificate as per Apprentices Act 1961.
- Engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible under this notification.
- For Medical Laboratory Technician (Pathology), candidates must be 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (minimum 50% marks in both 10th and 12th).
- For Secretarial Assistant (Stenography) and Computer Operator & Programming Assistant, candidates must have National Trade Certificate (NTC) approved by NCVT/SCVT.

- Selection will be based on merit list prepared from Matriculation (10th Class) marks (minimum 50% aggregate).
- Merit list will be trade-wise and community-wise; candidates will be shortlisted based on academic merit and preference of Unit-Department-Trade.
- In case of equal marks, older candidates will be preferred; if dates of birth are identical, earlier Matriculation pass candidates will be prioritized.
- No written test or viva will be conducted.
- Final selection is subject to Document Verification (DV) and submission of Medical Fitness Certificate.

- Matriculation (Class X) mark sheet and pass certificate.
- ITI certificate (consolidated mark sheet or Provisional National Trade Certificate).
- National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT or Provisional Trade Certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT.
- Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC candidates) in prescribed Central Government format.
- Income and Asset Certificate (for EWS candidates) issued by competent authority.
- Disability Certificate (for PwBD candidates).
- Discharge Certificate/Serving Certificate (for Ex-Servicemen quota applicants).
- Original documents must be produced during Document Verification.

- Application fee: ₹100/- (non-refundable).
- No fee for SC/ST/PwBD/Women applicants.
