- BPMs must arrange accommodation for Branch Post Offices at their own cost and reside in the post village.

- GDS are required to work 4 to 5 hours daily and cannot be retained beyond 65 years of age.

- Educational qualification: Passed Secondary School Examination (10th standard) with passing marks in Mathematics and English from a recognized board.
