- Validates eligibility for appointment as Primary Teachers (Classes I-V) and Graduate Teachers (Classes VI-VIII).
- Open exclusively to in-service regular teachers in Sikkim.
- Candidates can choose exam centers in Gangtok, Namchi, or Gyalshing.

- For Primary Teachers (Classes I-V):
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC) and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
- OR Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC) and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- OR Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC) and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- For Graduate Teachers (Classes VI-VIII):
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc) with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC) and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
- OR Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc) with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC) and 2-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
- OR Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC) and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- OR Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC) and 4-year BA/BSc Education or BA/BSc Ed.
- Only NCTE-recognized teacher education courses are considered.
- For Special Education qualifications, courses recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) are valid.

- Written examination with objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
- No negative marking; all questions are compulsory.
- Total of 150 MCQs divided into two papers based on teaching level.
- Paper I for Primary Teachers (Classes I-V) covers Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies.
- Paper II for Graduate Teachers (Classes VI-VIII) covers Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, and either Mathematics & Science or Social Studies.
- Candidates must score at least 60% to pass; 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
