Guest Faculty in Department of Computer Science & Applications

- One vacancy for Guest Faculty to teach MCA/M.Sc. Computer Science/CBCS/VAC subjects in the Department of Computer Science & Applications, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
- Assignment is on a lecture basis with a token honorarium of Rs. 1,500 per lecture, capped at Rs. 50,000 per month.
- Candidates must provide an undertaking not to draw any fellowship/stipend/financial assistance from any agency during their tenure as Guest Faculty.
- Candidates already availing JRF scholarships are not entitled to the honorarium but will receive an experience certificate.
- No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.

- Eligibility can be met under either Option A or Option B:
- Option A:
- MCA/M.Sc. in Computer Science/IT/Computer Applications/M.Tech or allied subject with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) from an Indian university or accredited foreign university.
- Relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/Differently-abled/OBC (Non-creamy Layer)/Ph.D. degree holders who obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September 1991.
- Must have cleared NET conducted by UGC/CSIR or similar UGC-accredited tests like SLET/SET, OR hold a Ph.D. degree as per UGC regulations.
- Ph.D. candidates registered before 11 July 2009 are exempt from NET/SLET/SET if they meet all of the following:
a. Ph.D. degree awarded in regular mode only.
b. Evaluation by at least two external examiners.
c. Open Ph.D. viva voce conducted.
d. Publication of at least two research papers from Ph.D. work (one in a refereed journal).
e. At least two presentations in conferences/seminars based on Ph.D. work.
- Conditions (a) to (e) must be certified by the Registrar/Dean (Academic Affairs).
- Option B:
- Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 in World University Rankings by QS, THE, or ARWU (Shanghai Jiao Tong University).
- Candidates must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their present employer.

- Selection will be based on an interview conducted by the Chairperson, Department of Computer Science & Applications, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
- Shortlisted candidates will be intimated via email regarding the interview date and time.
- Candidates must bring original certificates and relevant documents for verification at the time of the interview.
