- Must be able to read and write Odia (satisfied by passing Odia as a subject in HSC/10th/12th or equivalent exams).
- For language teachers (Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Telugu), passing the Odia Examination of 7th/8th Standard conducted by BSE Odisha is sufficient.
- Category I (Education Teachers): Bachelor's degree with 50% aggregate (45% for reserved categories) plus B.Ed. or equivalent teacher training qualification.
- Category II (Physical Education Teacher): +2 or equivalent examination plus C.P.Ed./D.P.Ed./B.P.Ed./M.P.Ed. from a recognised Board/University.
- Candidates in the final year of their training course or awaiting results are also eligible.
- No fixed age limit or vacancy count; OSSTET is an eligibility test, not a recruitment.
