Veterinary Officer / Block Veterinary Officer Recruitment 2026

- Recruitment drive by Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) for 137 Veterinary Officer/Block Veterinary Officer (VO/BVO) positions under the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, Government of Assam.
- Permanent residents of Assam with a degree in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science are eligible to apply.
- Pay scale of Rs. 30,000 – Rs. 1,10,000 with Grade Pay Rs. 12,700 under Pay Band 4.
- Online applications open from 7 August 2026 to 6 September 2026.
- Selection process to be notified later; may include written tests or interviews conducted zone-wise.

- Must be an Indian Citizen and a permanent resident of Assam.
- Proof of domicile required: Permanent Resident Certificate or Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.
- Must hold a Degree in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science from a recognized University/Institution.
- Upload mark sheets/grade sheets of each semester/year and final pass certificate.
- Age limit: 21 to 38 years as on 1 January 2026 (relaxation applicable for reserved categories).
- Age proof: Class-X/Class-XII Examination Admit Card/Pass Certificate/Marksheet with Date of Birth.

- Selection procedure to be notified later by APSC via corrigendum/addendum.
- Examination/test may be conducted zone-wise based on the number of candidates from each district.
- Six zones: Silchar, Jorhat, Nagaon, Tezpur, Kokrajhar, and Guwahati.
- Candidates may be required to attend a personal interview/Viva-Voce at a designated location.
- No reimbursement for travel or other expenses for interview candidates.

All (with reservation for SC, ST, OBC/MOBC, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen as per Government norms)

- Permanent Resident Certificate (Assam) or Employment Exchange Registration Certificate as domicile proof.
- Degree mark sheets/grade sheets of each semester/year and final pass certificate in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science.
- Class-X/Class-XII Admit Card/Pass Certificate/Marksheet showing Date of Birth for age proof.
- Certificates and mark sheets of all examinations from HSLC onwards up to the qualifying examination.
- Experience Certificate (wherever necessary).
- Caste certificate issued by the Government of Assam for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC candidates.
- BPL certificate issued by the Government of Assam (wherever necessary).
- PwBD certificate (40% or more benchmark disability) issued by competent authority, if applicable.
- Ex-Servicemen Identity Card and Discharge Book, if applicable.
- Declaration Form-A regarding 'The Small Family Norms' as per Government norms.
- Government employment certificate or No Objection Certificate (NOC), if already in Government service.
- Identity proof (PAN Card, Driving License, Passport, Voter ID, Aadhaar Card, etc.).
- Recent Photograph (50 KB – 200 KB, not older than 3 months) and Signature (50 KB – 200 KB).

- General category: Rs. 250 + Rs. 47.20 (CSC-SPV processing fee) = Rs. 297.20.
- OBC/MOBC category: Rs. 150 + Rs. 47.20 = Rs. 197.20.
- SC/ST/BPL/PwBD category: No application fee, only Rs. 47.20 processing fee.
- Fee once paid is non-refundable under any circumstances.
- Candidates must produce a valid category certificate for fee relaxation.
